There probably isn’t a real correlation between school and aprons, but it does signify some sort of uniform or semblance of order. School is in full swing which allows so much more time to create, work and network. I have felt compelled to create and photograph aprons this fall more then any other style I have in my small clothing line. They are fun, functional and an easy accessory to all lifestyles. I’m even thinking it may be time for a more feminine shaped apron…. So get you your apron on and Enjoy!!

What does it mean to be a classic? When I think of a classic fashion image its of Audrey Hepburn in her iconic black dress. It seems, as an adult, that wearing black gives you a more classic appearance as well as the styling. There is also the “vintage” appeal that exists with both classic cars as well as some very specific vintage fashion, depending on the decade one is referring to. Norma & Henry wants to make sure there is something for everyone, our version on the “classic – little black dress!” Enjoy!

Summertime in the country, relaxing days and a lot of precipitation. Doing a little rewind to this past spring: I started teaching teen fashion classes at the Hunterdon Museum of Art in Clinton. It’s always exciting sharing the design process and watching how it is interpreted by all ages, especially children. I can’t wait to teach sewing and pattern making this summer! It felt like a slower spring but now things are starting to move, my aprons are now available at the Noyes Museum gift shop and Norma & Henry along with Ulla’s bags will be at the Clover Market in Ardmore PA this fall. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Its hot and cold out there and thats how my mood has been too! It was a great Mother Love Market on the 5th and now I am getting ready for an art show at the Hunterdon Art Museum, in July, where I teach. I feel June is a little empty as far as shows go but I am working on fall markets and the bridal thing! Also lots of thought about going to the beach are running through my mind! So here’s a happy photo, Enjoy!!

Listening to little girls giggle has to be one of the most heart warming sounds out there. Watching their body language as they share a joke reminds us that humor is everywhere and meant for us to enjoy life and find the funny things in it! Tonight I had the pleasure of listening to my children and their friend giggle continuously over the noises from a whoopie cushion. So fun, ridiculous and simple!

It may be spring but snow is approaching and making us even more anxious for warm sunny days. My daughter questions how can this be possible, I think probably karma of some sort. We just have to make the best of it and keep dreaming of the warm days ahead. Weekend mornings at farmer’s markets using Ulla’s wonderful totes and day trips to the beach….. Cheers to what we hope is the last snowman of the season and enjoy!

In thinking about what makes a “look” its the accessories! The bag pulls it all together! Mix and match the bags with the skirts, dresses and even aprons. Then think about the shoes and jewelry to pull the “look” together. Its so much fun to dress Maia for photoshoots! Enjoy!
