Norma

So my grandmother Norma (for whom half the business is named) turned 87 today. She is an amazing woman, lived through so much and so many places, an inspiration to us all.  Her stories are epic and detailed like no other.   Happy Birthday Grandma!

Idea Department

Calling all brain cells in friends, family, advice givers of the planet….   What do you think would be the best way to market Norma & Henry.  Its hard to categorize your own product and see through others eyes where “they” see you fit in.  I created Norma & Henry out of the need for happy clothing in a society facing troubled times.  I’m open to any thoughts, thanks for your time and enjoy!

Jitter Bug!

Its time to kick off the spring/summer craft season!  I am so excited for the Art Start Craft Bazaar in a few weeks in Phili.  I have never done a show this large and along with the jitters I can’t wait to feel the energy of the crowd and see the talents of the other artists/crafters involved.   I have been working on a new sign and plans for my booth which I will try out this weekend in Summit, nj.  I would love to see some familiar faces at the shows as well as the opportunity to meet new people, hope to see you there, enjoy!

Spring break has so many meanings.  Hopefully if you are in college it means a wild week of partying at the beach, but for us folks with young children its meaning is quite different.  Trying to work from home while entertaining an 8 and almost 4 year old is an adventure.  When I left my kitchen/work space for a moment I came back to find my velvet ribbons missing and a teddy bear with a fabulous new lace necklace!  So tomorrow on a road trip we will go, enjoy!

Change of Direction

Sometimes a change is needed, you can feel it in the air.  You hope it comes easily (such as my fabric thats on its way via ups) or inspiration will hit at the right moment.  I have been starring at a beautiful vintage apron at “Modern Love” here in Frenchtown trying to imagine how I could give the feeling it has to my skirts to change them up a bit for summer.   So as the warm breezes of spring roll in hopefully my ideas will too, enjoy!
